In „Less is more, more more“ untersucht Claudia Larcher Architektur als wirkmächtige Ordnung: Räume prägen Wahrnehmung, Emotionen und Zugänge, spiegeln politische Systeme undgesellschaftliche Werte. In ihren Arbeiten bewegt sie sich durch Innen- und Stadträume, in denen Abwesenheit spürbar wird und Objekte als Zeug:innen gelebter Geschichte auftreten. Mittels digitaler Collagen entstehen „andere“ Räume zwischen Realität und Vorstellung, während Klang, Stille und Soundscapes das Unheimliche verstärken und Orte akustisch erfahrbar machen.
Claudia Larcher ist eine österreichische Künstlerin und Filmemacherin. In ihrer künstlerischen Forschung steht die Materialität des Digitalen im Zentrum. Sie untersucht, wie algorithmische Bildproduktion unsere Wahrnehmung von Realität beeinflusst und welche Implikationen damit einhergehen. Dabei gilt ihre besondere Aufmerksamkeit der Verschränkung von Fotografie und künstlicher Intelligenz sowie der Debatte um digitalen Humanismus und posthumane Bildästhetik. Claudia Larcher nutzt KI nicht nur als Analyseinstrument, sondern auch als experimentelles Werkzeug, um traditionelle Grenzen zwischen Medienformen aufzubrechen und neu zu definieren.
Für ihre innovative Auseinandersetzung mit Bildproduktion und -rezeption wurde sie 2023 mit dem Österreichischen Kunstpreis in der Kategorie Künstlerische Fotografie ausgezeichnet. Ihre Arbeiten wurden in zahlreichen Ausstellungen in Österreich und im Ausland präsentiert, darunter bei den Anthology Film Archives in New York City, beim Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, bei der Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lissabon, im Centre Pompidou in Paris, beim Gray Area Festival in San Francisco, im HOW Art Museum in Shanghai, im Belvedere 21 in Wien, bei der Manifesta 13 sowie beim Tokyo Wonder Site in Japan.
Eva Fischer ist selbstständige Kuratorin, Kulturmanagerin und Dozentin im Bereich experimenteller Medien, immersiver Kunst und XR. 2023 kuratiert sie die Ausstellung Extensions of Self. The Intersection of Human and Artificial Intelligence am Francisco Carolinum in Linz. 2021 initiierte sie das Medienkunstfestival CIVA – Contemporary Immersive Virtual Art und ist als dessen künstlerische Leiterin tätig. 2007 initiierte sie sound:frame, das als Wiener Festival für audiovisuelle Kunst bekannt wurde und seit 2016 als Plattform für immersive Kunst und Technologie agiert. Seit 2011 lehrt sie an verschiedenen Fachhochschulen und Universitäten als Dozentin im Bereich Experimenteller Medien. Von 2016 bis 2019 leitete sie die Produktion der Diagonale in Graz, von 2018 bis 2020 war sie als Co-Organisatorin von XR Vienna aktiv.

In “Less is more, more more,” Claudia Larcher examines architecture as a powerful form of order: spaces shape perception, emotions, and approaches, reflecting political systems and social values. In her work, she moves through interior and urban spaces where absence is palpable and objects appear as witnesses to lived history. Digital collages create “other” spaces between reality and imagination, while sound, silence, and soundscapes reinforce the uncanny and make places acoustically tangible.
Claudia Larcher is an Austrian artist and filmmaker. Her artistic research focuses on the materiality of the digital. She explores how algorithmic image production influences our perception of reality and what implications this has. She pays particular attention to the intertwining of photography and artificial intelligence, as well as the debate surrounding digital humanism and posthuman image aesthetics. Claudia Larcher uses AI not only as an analytical tool, but also as an experimental tool to break down and redefine traditional boundaries between media forms.
In 2023, she was awarded the Austrian Art Prize in the category of Artistic Photography for her innovative approach to image production and reception. Her work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Austria and abroad, including at the Anthology Film Archives in New York City, the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Gray Area Festival in San Francisco, the HOW Art Museum in Shanghai, Belvedere 21 in Vienna, Manifesta 13, and Tokyo Wonder Site in Japan.
Eva Fischer is a freelance curator, cultural manager and lecturer in the fields of experimental media, immersive art and XR. In 2023, she is curating the exhibition *Extensions of Self. The Intersection of Human and Artificial Intelligence at the Francisco Carolinum in Linz. In 2021, she launched the media art festival CIVA – Contemporary Immersive Virtual Art and serves as its artistic director. In 2007, she founded sound:frame, which became known as the Vienna Festival for Audiovisual Art and has operated as a platform for immersive art and technology since 2016. Since 2011, she has been teaching at various universities of applied sciences and universities as a lecturer in the field of experimental media. From 2016 to 2019, she headed production at the Diagonale in Graz, and from 2018 to 2020 she was active as co-organiser of XR Vienna.
